The Invite Today if you were here what would I say, That I saw a park in an unknown part, That I stopped the car, And embarked. Today if you were here what would I say, That I lost my way and just didn’t care. That a cul de sac with a canopy of branches, And an empty bench; Two standing pots of plants, was beckoning at me. So I went and sat. That I heard a rumbling noise, blending with the siren of a fire truck, That hurriedly passed by. Now my mind said get up I am much inclined To investigate, that rumbling noise At the periphery of the park. Silly me! this unnecessary quickness, Just to see, two men with machines, Grooming the bushes! But beyond that what I see is, Spectacular! Natural beauty.
