Unsettled Universe

Turbulence, turmoil, terror;

Mankind in the 21st century.

Fast, furious, frenzy;

A kingdom under seize.

Elements outside,

Turmoil inside,

Restless minds tethered souls.

The question exists, the quest unknown.

The wars, the hurricanes, the massacres ;

Seethed bloodbaths. 

Wealth, glitz, compounding advancement ;

Science, technology, medicine. 

In the touch of a button, at the touch of a screen.

The age of speed and new horizons,

Yet obscure sails the ship of humanity.

The lighthouse glimmers in the far wide distance,

Man's irony remains! 

Hopeful yet, 

Scrambles to see a flicker ;

In a dark fathomless sea.

Wandering cities, wandering souls ;

Lies, treachery, bigotry. 

Beauty long silenced ;

Of animals, birds, woods & trees.

They only witness, 

Silently they weep. 

Tears quickly dry ;

For the harshness, they receive from cruel humanity.

They too wreak havoc, how long can they contain!

In a tsunami, in a hurricane, in an earthquake; 

They seethe their anger, they empty out their pain.

Where then lies the harbor, the anchor, the center?

Where then are the all of " We"? 

Is there anything left of us?

The so-called " humane " of our humanity?

The mutilation of the Earth, 

The disfiguring of the psyche,

The dismemberment of the soul!

Sadly that has all remained of " We".

Sorrowfully!

Honor, Honesty, Love, Chivalry;

Empathy, Kindness, Genuine Generosity; 

Through a smoked glass;

Clearly, we fail to see, complacent we fail to grasp ; 

This plain truth, this simple reality.

The train hissed off, with all the good qualities. 

The station desolate, shallow and empty. 

Only the Humans turned zombies remained ;

Sitting soulless, horrifying and ugly.

The tracks long got eroded ;

Embedded in dirt ;

Blistered, bruised, rusted!

And backtracked million years back ;

We now all remain,

Gluttonous, Gnawing Human Dinosaurs!
